EDA Energy Economic Data Exchange offers a standardized form of encrypted data exchange for all market participants in the Austrian energy industry. The uniform data formats enable efficient communication and secure data transmission. EDA represents a secure, future-oriented, stable and cost-effective data exchange method, which also plays a pioneering role in the European energy market. Specifically, EDA supports three aspects in the information chain: sending, distributing and receiving a message in encrypted form and independent of the data format of the market message itself. Types of connection: Energy service providers have the following options for data transmission and data exchange. • User portal (including process environment for sending and processing messages) • E-mail connection (own software application required for sending and processing messages) • Communication endpoint (own IT landscape and software application required for sending and processing messages) The user portal was created for energy communities developed that not only transmits data securely, but also offers all information on data transmission and security as well as comprehensive services. The messages transmitted by the network operators are visualized in the user portal and prepared for further use. A uniform infrastructure is available for all companies in the Austrian energy industry, via which data or electronic documents can be exchanged in a uniform format and with a uniform communication protocol. This helps to avoid costs that arise from individual agreements with the B2B integration of individual communication partners.
