Stemming from the eHaul research project, our venture represents a significant leap forward in sustainable logistics solutions. Notably, as part of this research initiative, Europe's inaugural fully automated battery swap station was introduced and since then is operating on a daily basis, marking a pivotal milestone in the sustainable transportation landscape. At E•HAUL, we recognize the pressing need to address the infrastructure gap hindering the electrification and thus decarbonization of road transportation. Our innovative battery swap solution serves as a key enabler in this effort. Operating seamlessly 24/7, our station boasts the capability to swiftly swap batteries within a mere 10-minute timeframe. This not only provides freight forwarders with a fast and flexible charging alternative but also delivers inherent advantages from a grid perspective. Our fully automated system not only mitigates grid connection demands but also facilitates battery-to-battery charging, peak shaving, and bi-directional station-to-grid services. Additionally, it supports direct energy feed-in from PV or wind farms, further bolstering its appeal as a grid-friendly solution.
