About Elder Tree

The purpose of Elder Tree is to engage communities in sustainable agriculture, gardening, and nature education programs to promote human health, wholeness and well-being. Our programs reconnect people with each other and with the natural world, and in so doing we work together to promote ecological literacy and build healthy minds, bodies and souls. Our organization seeks to live our core values through our work. We promote inclusion, community, personal agency, sustainability, humility, equality, and transparency in everything we do. When we say inclusion, that means taking proactive steps to ensure our space, programs, and culture create a welcoming and accessible environment for all, especially those who have physical, developmental, cognitive, behavioral or neurological differences. We believe in the power of intergenerational community building and so seek participants and volunteers of all ages. We are a growing organization with a goal of acquiring land and starting a therapeutic farm where people can become grounded and find healing by participating in simple daily farm life with tasks such as gardening and caring for animals. Our current partnerships with local Dayton businesses allows us to connect with the community through agroforestry and nature education.
