About Elevate Her UK

Elevate Her UK aim to work with young girls aged 11-18 from low-income households and disadvantaged backgrounds, who are at risk of violence, especially peer-to-peer violence, school exclusion, or involvement in offending behaviour. Our focus is to support girls from the Barking and Dagenham area, including those in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). We are focusing on the borough of Barking & Dagenham as it is one of London's most deprived boroughs and according to Trustforlondon.org.uk, 42% of its children are "growing up in poverty". Many of these young girls face challenging circumstances, such as unstable home environments, exposure to violence, or negative peer influences, which increase their vulnerability. We prioritise working with those who have a history of experiencing or being at risk of violence, as identified through referral forms. By providing a supportive space, we aim to empower these girls, help them develop healthier relationships between themselves, and build skills to create a positive future for themselves.
