About Essex Economics Society

The University of Essex Economics Society is a student-led organisation founded in 2012, bringing together individuals passionate about economics, finance, and policy. Our mission is to create opportunities for students to grow academically, professionally, and socially by bridging the gap between classroom learning, industry insight, and community engagement. We deliver a wide range of activities, including: - Career development events: employability dinners, CV & LinkedIn workshops, and networking with leading firms. - Industry and academic engagement: guest lectures, alumni panels, and representation at international conferences such as the Warwick Economics Summit. - Community and inclusivity: socials, mixers, study sessions, and flagship events like the Christmas Dinner, New Year Ball, and our International Women’s Day: Women at the Forefront of Change.
