EV Centres, based in Cambridge, is developing and installing the next generation of electric vehicle (EV) multi-point, ultra rapid-charging centres throughout the UK. The UK’s current network of public chargers is inefficient and does not properly meet the needs of EV drivers, with many chargers located in inconvenient locations such as public car parks or on road sides. The network contains many faulty or obsolete charge points, with as many as 50% of chargers not working at any given time due to lack of maintenance or vandalism. EV Centres are the next generation, fully managed, multi-point, EV rapid-charging centres, that fully meet the needs of EV drivers and provide a reliable and pleasurable ‘valet charging’ experience. EV Centres ultra rapid-charging stations are unique in design and integration, and are designed for use primarily along main A road trunk routes, in retail parks and supermarket car parks and other locations such as park & ride, airports and transport hubs. Each standard centre will create approximately 260 square metres of retail space over 2 floors for coffee & food outlets, business centres, fitness studios and many other uses - providing comfortable surroundings for drivers whilst charging their vehicles.
