About FavorUp

FavorUp is a community of people that help each other out. Money is never exchanged, there is no bartering, and no one will ever expect you to pay them back. You simply get help when, where and how you need it. In 2018, when the so-called “sharing economy” is all the rage, we should be able to use technology to get and give favors from people beyond our personal network of friends. Creating an environment where this can happen safely and efficiently will open up far-reaching possibilities that could significantly improve the tools we have as a society to address some of our biggest challenges. We’ve spent years working on this problem and now we think we’ve figured out how to make the idea a reality. As a registered Public Benefit Corporation, FavorUp is working with leading researchers and experts in neuroscience, psychology and human behavior to create an environment where people want to help strangers, for the same motivations that people want to be helpful to friends. At a time when technology is too often designed as a distraction and diversion from the real world, FavorUp will turn our attention outward, to in-person connections that benefit individuals and the community at-large. FavorUp will build a sustainable business around helping people, organizations and communities be better neighbors. This is more than a business idea or a social experiment. This is an attempt to mold the world toward what we all wish it would be. Those of us launching FavorUp believe it can be done, at the intersection of science, technology and humanity.
