- ABOUT FIRE EQUIPMENT COMPANY - Fire Equipment Company, Inc has been in business in Detroit since 1954. There are two divisions in our company: (1) Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems and Gas/Leak Detection Systems. (2) Extinguisher and Safety Equipment Sales and Services. Our engineered systems business maintains a well-staffed department including dedicated sales, engineering, and technical support staff. We’ve provided hundreds of these systems worldwide from our offices in Michigan. Our expertise includes extensive experience for all types of special hazards detection and suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and gas and leak detection systems: o Special hazards suppression systems include gaseous systems such as FM-200, Novec 1230, High / Low Pressure CO2, Nitrogen, Argonite, and the Vortex hybrid system. o We also provide and install dry and wet chemical systems for restaurants, vehicles, and industrial applications. o We have extensive experience in fire alarm systems of all sizes (including large networked systems for campus-wide facilities). o Our portfolio of installed systems also includes gas detection systems (combustible and toxic) and liquid leak detection systems. Our equipment business includes both sales and service for extinguishers, hose reels, and all types of fire and safety equipment. Extinguisher recharge and hydro-testing is handled in house.
