GEM Energy deploy M1G and M2G Advanced Boiler Load (ABC) to increase the efficiency of commercial Boiler systems Quoted instantaneous and advertised combustion efficiencies (sometimes >100%) do not take account of individual Boiler heat loss characteristics and Boilers with high combustion efficiency can still nuisance cycle as a result of localised dilution and heat losses Boilers which lack proper control can predictably nuisance cycle under low load conditions. Boiler nuisance cycling is a pervasive problem which is often over-looked by design engineers and building stakeholders. Boiler cascades and/or condensing/modulating boilers are only a part solution as low water content Boilers without thermal jackets can rapid cycle on low load leading to premature failure of combustion components and increased maintenance costs Hot water boilers have operated as the heat centres of our buildings for years and Boiler control/optimisation is high on the list of uptake energy efficient technologies (Source: EEVS, BloombergNEF 2018) M1G & M2G represent a breakthrough in boiler load control for LTHW and MTHW systems. European Patent Number 1607820. M2G integrates seamlessly into the boiler/BMS control circuitry on the interlock normally provided by boiler manufacturers. The M2G algorithm will eliminate any response to ‘boiler-only’ or ‘localised’ heat loss which is not load-demand related. M2G is not a BMS. The M2G dead bands are built on existing BMS set points are continuously and automatically refreshed for each and every chunk of boiler activity. The normal cycle rate of the boiler is matched by M2G during heavy load conditions. Savings greater than 10% can be expected in addition to BMS (optimum start-stop, sequencing and weather compensation). Savings range from 6% - 25% depending on controls and system set up.
