About Global ESG Leadership Association
Global ESG Leadership Association (GELA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in New York State, dedicated to advancing global youth leadership, promoting sustainable development practices, and supporting the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GELA currently operates offices in New York and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. GELA is also an official member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). SDSN was launched in 2012 by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and economist Jeffrey Sachs, bringing together a global knowledge community to promote science-based solutions, climate action, and sustainable development. Through summits, research, investment initiatives, advocacy, and international cooperation, GELA builds cross-sector platforms that connect youth, academia, businesses, and international organizations, driving collaboration in the fields of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). Under its umbrella, GELA oversees the Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, and University of Sydney Global ESG Leadership Associations, as well as the Alpha Centauri Accelerator incubation platform. In addition, GELA is a co-founder of the Africa Assistance Alliance (AAA) and has appointed representatives to serve on its board. GELA HK is a Section 88 nonprofit organization registered in Hong Kong and is responsible for coordinating GELA’s activities across the Asian region.
