About Global Youth & News Media

Global Youth & News Media, founded in France as an international nonprofit in 2018, aims to strengthen the linkages between young people and news media through three kinds of actions: celebrating news media that truly serve the young, creating projects and resources that address media literacy through a journalistic prism and amplifying the journalism by and for children and adolescents. Our most recent quest through activism and recognition of excellence is to encourage basic media literacy courses to include lessons on why journalism is a good thing to have around and that some people pay a deadly price just to do that job. Also, in 2024 we established Children's News Europe, editors of news for children from seven countries who want do do an even better job at serving their very young, curious and vulnerable audience.
