So, what is Going Dutch Community? Goede vraag! (excellent question) See it as your go-to place for all your language and cultural integration struggles (and no, we don’t make you wear ‘klompen’ and eat a ‘boterham met kaas’ for breakfast). We are a community of Dutchies and Dutchies in the making where you can find all the learning materials and online language courses you need to master Dutch, personalized coaching to come up with a learning plan that works for you, plenty of opportunities to practice this beautiful language and, my personal favourite, super ‘gezellige’ activities throughout The Netherlands like treasure hunts in ‘big’ cities, tours through cute towns given by the local farmer, Dutch karaoke nights, stamppot cooking classes (trust me, we do have a cuisine 🤌) and many, many other things. Practically speaking, through our website you can access all the learning materials, through online classes you can do all the practicing (with your conversation group or your personal language buddy), through WhatsApp you can chat with the other students, share study materials, reveal your favourite Dutch Carnaval song and learn valuable Dutch WhatsApp lingo (necessary to survive in the 21st century) and… outside the virtual realm you can put your countless hours of Dutch practice to the ultimate test, fluently ordering with the fish ladies at the market 😉
