At Greater Texas DBT we celebrate the unique qualities of emotionally-sensitive individuals and are passionate about collaborating with clients to “build lives worth living” by capitalizing on strengths while systematically addressing vulnerabilities. Building a life worth living is the capstone goal of DBT as quoted by developer Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. We will work together to achieve and maintain this goal through a combination of individual therapy, DBT skills group, diary card reviews, skills coaching between sessions, family coaching and support, DBT team case consultation, referrals for adjunct therapies as needed, and care coordination with outside providers. We offer comprehensive, evidence-based, personalized, and accessible mental healthcare in-person or from the comfort of your home. We are here to help you learn how to navigate your thoughts and emotions so that they take their rightful place as one of many important information sources and feedback tools in your life, rather than being the driving dictators of your life. And believe it or not, most clients ultimately enjoy this journey once they get started and discover a newfound sense of peace while identifying values, prioritizing goals, navigating relationships with self/others/world, increasing authentic self-expression, reducing shame and insecurity, and learning when to take themselves seriously and when to laugh at themselves instead.
