From the genesis of Hallehluya Food Company, Debbie and Jim Pesce have been intentional in creating opportunity and connection. Early on, they recognized that as Hallehluya grew, so could their efforts to serve others. With boots on the ground, financial investment, strategic partnership and mentorship, Hallehluya continues to actively engage with both local and global communities. With a simple goal to put food on the family table, Jim and Debbie Pesce incorporated Hallehluya in 1994. The business began with the delivery of poultry products to local Ontario Schools and Independent Grocers. The company grew quickly through a fortuitous strand of unique opportunities, and resulted in the opening of a retail store, the expansion of product offerings, and establishing a trading centre with product development services. This growth strengthened Hallehluya’s key relationships, as well as its capacity within the food industry. Such opportunities opened the door for Debbie and Jim to begin creating alternative ways to do business; ways which reflected their deep-rooted and genuine desire to help others. Debbie and Jim became creative in the development of employment opportunities, fundraising, community support and mentorship. Bringing people together and creating a synergistic support system to help others with a hand up. With over 25 years of experience in processing, packaging, distribution, trade and strategic collaboration, Hallehluya has created a momentum of sustainable and profitable business with tremendous philanthropic impact. Today, Hallehluya continues to grow embracing new partnerships, empowering staff, customers, and suppliers to be the best they can be in business and in service to others.
