About Home-Base Israel

A social rehabilitation nonprofit organization for the Homeless In Israel. Since its establishment in 2013, Home Base has worked with hundreds of individuals and runs 3 soccer teams composed of adult males in Israel’s largest cities (two in Tel Aviv and one in Jerusalem) in direct partnerships with each city’s municipality. Additionally, the organization has led Israel’s delegation to the Homeless World Cup in 2015 and 2017. In 2019, the organization will open its 4th team as it continues to grow and advance its goal of addressing and ending homelessness across Israel. A staple project addressing homelessness most specifically the underprivileged women population in Israel is the Voices of the Heart women’s choir. The choir practices and meets as a means of expression and empowerment for women in need. These women build estimable qualities such as confidence, altruism, unity, and group convergence achieved through harmony. Within the heart of the city, Home Base has provided lockers within Jerusalem. Through the “Lockers Project”, we implemented a place for “street dwellers” to securely keep their belongings. This project offers a humane solution to the problems brought upon by commonly endured trust issues amongst those without permanent shelter as well as adversity from bureaucratic measures.
