Hotel Resilient was developed in response to the findings of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) Global Assessment Report (2013) (GAR 13), which found that many hotels do not have the systems and processes in place to reduce their risks to disasters or be prepared if and when they occur. The goal of Hotel Resilient is to create more resilient hotels by providing clear direction to hoteliers on how to reduce and transfer disaster risk or adapt adequately to changing climatic conditions.
