About i2i Maths
Anne and Pam are friends and colleagues who are slowly but surely evolving into a pair of grumpy old women! Before they give in to the aches and pains and mental degeneration that old age brings, they decided to have one last crack at sharing their passion and enthusiasm for and knowledge of mathematics with the World (or at least anyone out there who is willing to listen). Anne and Pam are experienced and highly qualified primary school teachers who, since leaving Local Authority employ a few years ago, have put food on the table and a roof over their respective family’s heads, by setting up their own educational consultancy firm, specialising in inspiring mathematical attainment in children with low self-esteem. Anne and Pam decided to build a website that improves mathematical attainment by inspiring and supporting parents to inspire in their children a love of mathematics by supporting children while they are doing their maths homework. While there are many other mathematics websites available, theirs is the only one that focuses on helping parents. Anne and Pam believe that parents are the people who know their children the best and are best suited to support them improve in mathematics. While worksheets have their place, you will not find them on their site. They use videos, posters and homework help via email to ensure that parents can support their child’s learning effectively. Maths in school today is taught very differently to how it used to be taught but dig below the surface and it becomes clear that the concepts are identical. Their website shows parents, through the use of various media, how to adapt their knowledge and understanding of mathematics to fit the current needs of their child. Parents have told Anne and Pam repeatedly that they struggle with this adaptation and they believe their website is the solution to this problem. Website subscription is open to schools and individuals at affordable rates.
