Our story began in Wellington in the mid-1980s with a small company focused on building Crib Wall retaining units. Recognising its potential, builder Chris Burke acquired the business and quickly expanded operations to meet increasing demand. Before long, the company was not only installing retaining walls but also manufacturing its own units. As nationwide opportunities emerged, Chris relocated to Auckland and, in 1994, established ICB Retaining Walls Limited. Since then, the company has broadened its capabilities and now delivers a full spectrum of services — including retaining walls, piling, and anchoring solutions — with a strong emphasis on design and build projects. We’ve successfully completed work across multiple regions for a diverse range of clients, including major construction firms, city councils, NZTA, KiwiRail, and mining and harbour authorities.
