Industrial Decontamination Services Pty Ltd is the leading provider of specialist decontamination programs for personal protective equipment, protective garments and clothing (PPE). The company was formed after 8 years of research and development and field trials into the effects of laundering and decontamination on the protection provided by items of protective equipment. We also investigated how laundering techniques could be improved to minimise or negate these effects. Decontamination of protective equipment ensures that the equipment is fully utilised allowing even the most expensive equipment to be used cost effectively. By introducing the more expensive better quality PPE and controlling the costs, the safety benefits are significant. The decontamination system also helps the environment. Chemical fixation and landfill costs are significantly reduced when PPE is recycled. In some cases PPE waste to landfill represents 20% of total landfill. This process can eliminate PPE landfill entirely. With the full backing of many of the leading PPE manufacturers, ID services have now expanded their capacity and modified their process to allow decontamination of a wide range of PPE items. We have constructed 4 sites in total within Australia in Gladstone, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth and we are planning construction for additional sites over the next 3-5 years. ID Services has also developed a network of local service providers and agents to ensure that we can provide an efficient door to door service anywhere within Australia.
