The Institute of Science, Technology and Sustainability for Ceramics (ISSMC) is the Italian Hub of Excellence on Ceramic Materials, where the idea, design and development of new ceramic and hybrid materials takes place for the benefit of industry and the whole society, and where advanced training is carried out in the field of materials science addressed to fields of major current interest: Aero-space, Wellness and Health, Energy, Nano-remediation & safety, Environment, Construction and Cultural Heritage. In our vision, we pursue the enhancement of trans-disciplinarity, the integration of non-conventional technologies and the development of new processes for multi-materials. ISSMC has multi-disciplinary expertise and carries out the entire chain of development spanning from basic research to design, from the synthesis of base materials to forming processes, consolidation techniques and also functionalisations up to the development of prototypes and / or pilot plants. ISSMC has various collaborations in Europe, USA and Japan and is involved in numerous national and international research and training programs, many of which with the role of Project Coordinator. The interaction and collaboration with the industrial field are developed and supported by numerous technology transfer projects through the creation of spin-offs and / or licensing of patents related to new processes and products developed in ISSMC.
