About Instruments of Change
Instruments of Change is a 501©3 non-profit organization bringing music education and instruments to children who would otherwise not have access. Through our programs, we're "Changing Lives One Note at a Time". Our Mission is: “To profoundly impact the lives of disadvantaged children through the gifts of musical instrument donation, instruction and performance.” We bring the gift of music and musical education to children who cannot afford it. We do so by seeking out new and gently used musical instruments and place them with children whose parents do not have the means to purchase an instrument of their own. While they learn to play, the students are taught accountability, responsibility, goal setting, personal achievement and so much more. We do not simply hand out instruments. Children who complete our band program earn an instrument when they enroll in middle school music programs. It’s our desire to ensure that money is not a barrier to a child’s ability to learn and play an instrument. Through relationships with the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Children's Board, Hillsborough County Schools, and Ruth Eckerd Hall, Instruments of Change will reach more than 500 children with musical instruments and/or instruction this year.
