About International Lawn Tennis Club of Sweden
The International Lawn Tennis Club of Sweden is a part of The International Lawn Tennis Club (known as the ‘IC’) which was founded in 1924 with a view to improving relationships between countries that had been at war with each other. International tennis matches, played in the spirit of fairplay and sportsmanship, were to be the catalyst. That spirit is still the same today. The IC has grown and there are now 40 countries around the world which have an International Club. Matches are arranged between countries by and for players (all unpaid volunteers) of all ages who have represented their country in an officially recognised team. A ‘Council’ of International Clubs coordinates the activities of all ICs worldwide, and it also orchestrates matches and events.
