About ISIC - International Student Identity Card
Created in 1953, the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is the only internationally accepted proof of full-time student status. The ISIC card is currently issued in over 130 countries and gives access to more than 150,000 discounts and benefits worldwide for approximately 5 million cardholders each year. All full-time students over the age of 12, regardless of their nationality, race, gender, religion, sexual or political orientation can purchase an ISIC card at an affordable price. Via one single card, ISIC students gain preferential and discounted access to products, services and experiences relevant to all aspects of student life, from software and cinema access, to bookstores, public transport, cafes and eateries. The ISIC Association is the non-profit organisation behind the ISIC card. Through the wide range of opportunities available to cardholders, the ISIC Association aims to play a supporting role in improving intercultural understanding, increasing educational opportunities and facilitating student life across the world. In recognition of this, the ISIC card is endorsed by organisations such as UNESCO, UNWTO, the European Council on Culture and the Andean Community of Nations. The card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments and ministries of education and youth around the world. The ISIC Association works closely with strategic partners such as MasterCard, IELTS British Council, EF Education First, and Microsoft to support students internationally. The ISIC card is managed at a global level by the ISIC Service Office, located in Belgrade, the Serbia. With a team of dedicated professionals, the ISIC Service Office manages the worldwide network of ISIC card issuing partners, and provides them with centralized marketing, sales, finance, IT and operational support services.
