About IVSA Ghent - Belgium

IVSA stands for International Veterinary Students’ Association. IVSA Global oversees multiple local Member Organizations, such as IVSA Ghent. With 194 Member Organizations (local IVSA organizations like IVSA Ghent), IVSA is the largest veterinary student association in the world. Every veterinary medicine faculty all around the globe can have their own IVSA MO. Our mission statement is “To benefit the animals and people of the world by harnessing the potential and dedication of veterinary students to promote the international application of veterinary skills, education and knowledge.” IVSA Global fulfills this mission by arranging annual meetings (congresses and symposia), facilitating exchanges between our members and many projects and educational opportunities, focusing on animal welfare, one health, education, soft skills and wellness. IVSA Ghent aims to benefit our fellow students and community by hosting and organising activities such as: – Group exchanges with member organizations abroad We aim to arrange two group exchanges every year. We send 8-12 Belgian students to another country (in and outside of Europe), and their IVSA chapter returns the favor. It’s one or two weeks of interesting lectures, workshops, amazing cultural trips and parties! Anyone can participate in a group exchange, whether you’re in your first or last year. – Individual exchanges – Fundraisers for NGO’s that benefit or work with animals – Lectures and workshops – Internationalisation – City tours and activities for Erasmus students – Wellness Week: a week dedicated to the physical and mental health of veterinary students.
