J. Stern & Co. is a private investment partnership based in London, New York, Malta and Zurich, established in 2012, and owned by the Partners. The business builds on the 200-year banking heritage of the Stern Family and particularly on its record of investing globally since the 1950’s. Our investment philosophy is to invest for the long term, using our own research and to invest only in high-quality businesses. These companies have powerful business models in attractive industries. They typically gain share in normal times, taking advantage of disruption, and they have the resilience to weather adverse macro-economic conditions. We manage a small number of differentiated investment strategies on a global basis. These include high-quality, large and mega-cap equities, hard-currency emerging market bonds and specialist direct lending. Our AUMA in June 2025 is US$2.2bn including approximately 20% owned by the Stern family and the partners. Our clients include institutions, charities, foundations and families, who invest alongside us in widely available daily dealing funds or separately managed accounts.
