Inspiring local change through international flavours, Jiak is an Ontario Made, small-batch food brand specializing in kimchi handcrafted in Sarnia, ON. Founded by Lo-Anne, a first-generation Malaysian-Canadian reconnecting with her roots, Jiak empowers meaningful conversations around identity, sustainability, and access to culturally relevant food. “Jiak,” meaning “eat” in Hokkien, invites people to the table not just to enjoy bold, vibrant flavors, but to engage in dialogue — about belonging, heritage, and the intersections of food and social equity. Each jar of Jiak kimchi is made in small batches using locally sourced Ontario produce, blending time-honoured techniques with fresh, accessible taste profiles. Beyond the products, Jiak is a community-centered brand collaborating with local farms, and other Ontario Made businesses to foster a more inclusive food ecosystem that celebrates where we come from and building a future together.
