Layla Khamoushian is an attorney with over ten years of practice in California courts. She practices immigration law with a focus on employment and family based immigration. She specializes in EB1 and EB2 categories helping professionals with extraordinary abilities from across the globe to apply for their green cards. Layla received her BA degree from UCLA with a minor in Iranian-studies. She received her JD from Loyola Law School in 2004. While in law school, she worked as a healthcare advocate and interned at the City Attorney’s office. Layla is a passionate advocate and has collaborated with other advocacy groups in the United States to effectuate policy change in immigration policies affecting Iranians. In 2010, she participated in a nation-wide advocacy effort which leads to changing of student visas for Iranian nationals from a single entry to multiple entries. Layla is also the co-founder and directing attorney of the first immigration legal clinic for Iranians in Los Angeles at I.M.A.N. (Iranian Muslim Association of North America), a donation-based clinic which offers immigration consultations and advocacy to the general public. Born in Tehran, Layla immigrated with her family to the United States at a young age and is familiar with and sensitive to the immigrant experience.
