About Low Carbon Truck Consultancy
Low Carbon Truck Consultancy was established by Darren Newman to support the road transport sector on the journey to net zero emissions. Some of the things I do: Training - 'Carbon Literacy for Transport Operators' - this is a bespoke version of The Carbon Literacy Project's certified course. It's one day of learning about climate science, how road transport impacts the climate, carbon reporting, climate legislation for transport, alternative energy and technology - electric, hydrogen, renewable fuels. Writing and research. I write articles about road transport decarbonisation for Freight Carbon Zero. I co-author reports including: - Review of Decarbonisation Policies for Heavy-Duty Transport: Recommendations for a Successful Transition - ERCST (European Roundtable for Climate Change and Sustainable Transition) 2023 - Higher Bio-content Fuel Deployment Research - Department for Transport 2024 I provide help and guidance to Truck operators looking to improve their environmental impact, understand new technologies and plan their Net Zero journey. I advise infrastructure providers, vehicle funders and providers, bodybuilders and other transport associated businesses on all things trucks, transport and decarbonisation. I speak at industry events, I carry out ESOS audits for transport companies in association with wider sustainability organisations. I try to promote the best interests of the road transport industry at various forums, discussions and trade associations.
