About Make It Work Nevada
Make It Work Nevada is a policy-driven organization that is shifting the landscape of our community through advocacy and education to support the long-term health and vitality of Black and Brown families. Make It Work Nevada was born out of the national Make It Work Campaign. The national campaign had a presence in multiple states with the purpose of organizing women of color around kitchen-table/economic issues such as affordable childcare, paid family leave, paid sick days and pay equity. When the national campaign sunset in 2017, we became a sole state-based entity: Make It Work Nevada. Make It Work Nevada centers it's work and organizing around the experiences and challenges of Black women and women of color. As well, we've expanded the scope of our focus to include racial and reproductive justice because, in our experience, each of these issues informs the other and contributes to the gross disparity that our communities face in their day-to-day lives. We are a team of activists and organizers dedicated to measurably improving the lives of our community members. We are committed to empowering our communities and amplifying their experiences.
