Mar a la Vista embarks an intimate group of explorers willing to set sail together to share a traditional navigation experience, life at sea and responsible observation of cetaceans and other marine species. We are a local, sustainable, leisure project based on respect for our natural resources and protection of marine biodiversity. Embark on an unforgettable adventure with our whale watching tours, typically available from February to June, coinciding with the migration season of the majestic fin whale in the Mediterranean. Aboard Ria de Ferrol, a venerable wooden sailboat dating back to 1949, you'll experience a journey imbued with history and charm. Accompanying us on our expeditions is Julia Gostischa, a marine biologist specializing in cetaceans. With her expertise, she'll elucidate the intricacies of these remarkable creatures, alongside techniques for sighting them. Our approach adheres strictly to established guidelines, ensuring a respectful distance is maintained during all encounters. As a finale to your seafaring experience, we offer the opportunity to partake in the time-honored tradition of hoisting sails in the traditional style, fostering an authentic connection to maritime heritage as we sail back to port. From June until October, we relocate to Calella de Palafrugell in Costa Brava, where we explore the stunning creeks and coastline. Sailing excursions range from short trips to day-long adventures, allowing you to discover the stunning coastline and enjoy the sea breeze onboard one of our exclusive or open tours. Our expertly trained skipper will accompany you as you embark on an exciting adventure that includes the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the cristal clear waters, discover the incredible marine life and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks.
