About Maryland United FC
Maryland United FC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which has been providing a competitive soccer environment for young athletes since 1978 when the club was originally called Freestate Soccer Alliance. The club was renamed Maryland United FC in 2013. The club currently has opportunities for players ranging from U9 to U18 for both boys and girls. Maryland United is committed to providing their players with the highest levels of coaching as well as competition. The club has teams competing in the Club Champions League (CCL), which provides elite competition to clubs in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. On the girls’ side of the club, U14 to U18 teams also compete in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) which is the top female youth league in the nation for the sport and provides the players with the opportunity to compete against teams within the region and across the nation. In addition to the CCL and ECNL, teams compete in various tournaments and showcase events throughout the year. For players looking to continue their playing careers into college, these tournaments and showcases provide them with the opportunity to gain exposure to coaches. Maryland United FC currently has 500 active participants and is dedicated to each and every one of their growth and development on and off the field. In addition to their commitment to player development on the field, Maryland United provides service and leadership opportunities by sponsoring a canned food drive. They also have a Leadership Council for their high school players to learn to be better leaders on and off the field. These initiatives are centered in the hopes of helping to form well-rounded members of society who will excel in life. Maryland United FC is proud to be partnered with D.C. United, Adidas, and Pivot Physical Therapy.
