The Mill City Farmers Market (MCFM) is a vibrant and bustling market located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis on the banks of the Mississippi. From May-October the outdoor market is located next to the Guthrie Theatre, at 2nd Street S. and Chicago Avenue. During the winter, markets are conveniently held indoors at the historic Mill City Museum. Since its founding in 2006, the MCFM has served as a hub for local farmers, food makers, and artists to start and grow their businesses. With opportunities to showcase their products and connect with the community, the market has provided a supportive platform for all kinds of entrepreneurs to flourish. The market offers a wide variety of fresh produce and meats, artisanal cheeses and bread, pastry, and handmade art from over 100 vendors. Activities include cooking demos, children’s programs, free yoga, and special events. MCFM has a sister organization, the Mill City Farmers Market Charitable Fund. The fund promotes healthy eating and regenerative agriculture, redistributes fresh, local food to communities experiencing food insecurity, and supports local farmers and food producers. Together, the Mill City Farmers Market and the Mill City Farmers Market Charitable Fund are working to create a more sustainable, resilient, equitable food system that benefits Minneapolitans and beyond.
