About Minnie Jones Health Center

Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) in Asheville, North Carolina. We are the primary safety net provider for medical, dental, and behavioral health in Buncombe County, North Carolina. We currently provide services to approximately 16,000 low/lower income patients at integrated, one-stop health center located at 257 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. Our PCP team consists of about 20 primary care medical providers, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. We also have dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, nurses, case managers/care managers, behavioral health therapists and an amazing team of about 195 staff. Our Board is a patient-majority board and we are different for a reason. We provide HIV services to an 18-county service area of western North Carolina through the Ryan White Program. We provide HIV prevention services and embrace universal HIV testing for all of our patients. We also provide Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP). Our Transgender Health Program provides culturally competent, high quality Trans Health Care to over 300 patients. In 2015 we started the Advanced Practice Safety Net Residency Program (APSNR) for newly graduated nurse practitioners and physician assistants. It is a 12-month residency for NP's and PA's who want a career in the safety net medical field. We were among the first in the nation to be certified by the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium.
