About Mobile Power Solutions

Mobile Power Solutions (MPS) specializes in battery and electric double-layer capacitor safety and performance testing. MPS employees have decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and testing portable power products. Chuck Weitzel, President, founded Micro Power Electronics, a leading battery assembler, in 1984. His focus on process controls and quality was instrumental to growing the company to 70 employees before sale in 1995. In 2003, Chuck founded MPS. Andrew Tipton, Chief Scientist, joined MPS in 2008 and has over twelve years experience designingand testing energy storage devices (U.S. Navy, PolyStor). He is a member of the Electrochemical Society and the American Chemical Society. He holds a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Northwestern University.
