Mothers' Day Movement's (MDM) mission is to shift Mother's Day spending to help underserved mothers and their children. Since 2011, MDM has raised over $1 million to help women and children in the areas of education, maternal health, hunger, clean water and human trafficking. 100% of funds raised go directly to the charity. Mothers' Day Movement (MDM) was founded by a group of women who believe in making a difference for women around the globe. Inspired by Half the Sky, a book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, which chronicles the oppression of women and girls in the developing world, their aim is to shift gift giving prioriites for organizations that support women's and children's causes.
