About Mountain Housing Opportunities
Mountain Housing Opportunities (MHO) is a private, non-profit community development corporation based in Asheville, NC. Our mission is to build and improve homes, neighborhoods, communities, and lives, and build hope and dignity in the people we serve. Founded in 1988 by volunteers, MHO is the regional non-profit leader in preserving and creating safe, stable, and affordable housing in Buncombe County and beyond. MHO serves over 2,000 households each year through affordable rental homes, essential home repair, construction and sale of new affordable homes, and down payment assistance.
