About Musica Music and Wellbeing

Founded in 2010 by Dr Rosie Mead as a social enterprise with the aim of supporting the wellbeing of people living with dementia in care homes through music. Musica has provided online learning, coaching and resources to encourage caregivers to embed music into their daily dementia care on top of delivering meaningful music activities in care settings, delivered by highly trained musicians. Since its launch Musica’s goal has been to have a positive impact in the world. With our national Just one Hour campaign we aimed to increase the social interaction time to one hour for people living with dementia in care homes. So far over 600 care homes have signed up! In 2023 Musica veered into a new direction. We are now not only looking to support living well with dementia, but also looking to be part of potentially supporting the prevention of cognitive decline. This year we launched a new service to support brain health and reduction of chronic stress within the care sector and corporate organisations. Musica’s new Amplify training programme is aimed to reduce stress in the workplace providing you with professional tools and techniques so that you and your team can be high performing whilst still maintaining positive wellbeing. 100% of our profits go towards our work in dementia care.
