About New Muse Workshops

We believe that textiles, fashion and art have the ability to change the way someone feels about themselves. We are interested in making this experience accessible to all - in the wider community. We are committed to sharing the fashion and textile industry skills and knowledge we have with everybody through our wellbeing workshops. This project is about combining the expressive and transformative qualities of textiles, fashion and art. We believe that they can change people’s lives; the way we look at our lives and what we do with our future. It should be offered to people that really need to be seen and heard; people whose identity is at risk and need to re-affirm who they are; individuals who are may be voiceless in their circumstances, need an outlet or opportunity to express themselves creatively and whose stories are important and should have the opportunity to be expressed. The New Muse programme is designed to empower people, open up communication chains, create platforms and combat isolation; at the same time as enjoying all the relaxing and inspiring benefits of working with beautiful colours, fabrics and techniques to make great work.
