Extra Virgin Olive Oil Olivo is home made and hand made Olive Oil from Slovenia. Our tradition is four generations long and rich of love to oil. We are most certain that there's more to olive growing and production of olive oil than technical or agricultural terms can describe. It's an art inspired by love we feel for this precious natural nectar, love that is carried on from generation to generation, a personal, loving relationship, like the one between our family members. The utmost respect for olive trees and oil is being passed on from generation to generation, along with experience gained through both success and adversities. The distinguished Olivo is thus a high quality olive oil providing numerous health benefits. Olive oil Olivo is obtained from the finest olive fruits that ripen in the sun. Sea air only adds to a special flavour. Trees are sprayed with biological agents once or twice a year, if there's a risk of olive fly. Otherwise only natural methods of cultivation such as pruning are used in order to protect the oil from pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or other harmful substances. The picking of our olives is carried out by hand in order to prevent any mechanical damage, enzymatic hydrolysis or oxidation. Olives are transferred to olive mills within a period of 24 to a maximum of 48 hours after the picking. In the mills, oil is extracted at temperatures below 27 degrees Celsius to preserve active ingredients that increase oil's stability and are beneficial to the organism.
