About Orange Children & Parents Together, (OCPT)
Orange Children & Parents Together, a nonprofit organization established in 1967, is committed to providing family-friendly, community-based programs that enhance children’s growth, strengthen families, and foster healthy communities. Orange Children & Parents Together has served over 23,500 at-risk preschool children since 1967. OCPT grew out of the Head Start Programs launched in 1965 as part of the War on Poverty. At OCPT we attend to the most fragile sector of our population: children ages 0 to 5 years old who are low income, English Language Learners, living in foster care, classified as homeless, struggling with special needs, and at-risk for chronic illness such as diabetes and asthma. Our programs focus on the full range of child needs in support of school readiness: health screenings, developmental screenings, individualized attention, educational outcomes, and successful transition into kindergarten. As our mission, we are committed to providing family-friendly, community-based child development programs that enhance children’s growth, strengthen families, and foster healthy communities in Orange County. By providing school readiness and family support programs to the most vulnerable children in our community, we are ensuring that all children begin school healthy and ready to learn, with the best possible family and community support available to them.
