About OurTowns

The way we connect with our communities has become increasingly fragmented, the onset of COVID has highlighted this. We are more reliant than ever on internationally owned digital interfaces that choose what we see, which is contributing to the decline of our local shopping precincts. To address this imbalance, in 2019 we developed the OurTowns app; a hyperlocal, all inclusive directory that puts our communities first. The OurTowns app pulls all the elements of our community’s offerings into an all-inclusive, easy to access directory. The app is designed to be used anywhere in the world with its hyper local friendly interface that instantly identifies where you are or by simply typing a suburb you are visiting, allows you to make easy and authentic connections. To test the market, the we identified the diverse community of the City of Vincent in Perth Western Australia as the ideal precinct to garner feedback on what the community needed and required from the OurTowns app. Our team has been working closely with local councils, community groups, businesses, and event organisers to ensure the content and information is in line with consumer’s needs and expectations. Having completed testing we are now ready to update the OurTowns platform in line with the feedback and deliver on these learnings to give all our communities what they want and expect.
