About PACE Independent Living
PACE Independent Living is a charitable, non-profit community support service organization that provides services to adults with disabilities who choose to live independent lives. PACE provides services to approximately 300+ individuals who have a variety of disabilities including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, and muscular dystrophy. Services are provided in supportive housing sites (24/7 through pre-booked services as well as emergency services) and through Attendant Services - at home, school or work on a pre-booked basis. PACE also offers short and long-term community based support services at both a supportive housing site (Edwards Manor) and an adult day program facility (Paula Cassin Learning Centre) for individuals living with the effects of an acquired brain injury (abi). At the abi day programs, PACE workshops provide individuals opportunities to practice new skills, learn new information, or to "re-learn" and practice old skills and information impacted by the brain injury. Individuals are partnered with staff coaches who help define goals, keep the person on track, and provide extra support if needed. PACE receives funding support through Ontario Health Toronto Region
