About Peace in Education

Peace in Education (PiE) is a nonprofit community mediation center located in Los Angeles, California. Community mediation programs change lives. The Alternative Dispute transformation practitioner and dedicated volunteers who guide this initiative leave significant lasting impacts upon their communities. Through constructively engaging the lessor of our personal and communal moments, community mediation programs help us reveal promise and move into more hopeful tomorrows. They achieve this one conflict, one disputed context, one strained relationship at a time. This program is committed to helping the community re-humanize conflict. PIE intends to offer conflict prevention and intervention services for businesses, organizations, individuals, and families. On a prevention level, PIE seeks to build the capacity of community members to better manage conflict as it arises and to learn ways to minimize the possibility of it occurring. To this end, the Peace in Education intends to offer training for adults and youth, all in an effort to build skills and reduce unproductive conflict. Recognizing that conflict is a normal and natural part of life, and sometimes people and organizations need impartial assistance, PIE intends to also provide mediation, facilitation, training and coaching services.
