About Peninsula Outdoor School

Peninsula Outdoor School is an outdoor education provider with offices in Shenzhen and Guilin, China and Siem Reap, Cambodia. Our educational programs are based on tangible outcomes; it is our objective to give each of our participants real training and experience in practical outdoor skills. Our curriculum is built on the belief that theoretical knowledge is of limited value if not complimented by the ability to perform skills well. We seek to turn our students into capable and conscientious adventurers. To this end, our courses are designed to be hands-on and thorough, requiring student buy-in and willingness to expand abilities and aptitudes. Peninsula’s program model is based on three core elements: effective curriculum, skilled instructors, and experiential learning. Our curriculum is designed to assist students in understanding the importance of informed collaborative adventuring; topics like risk assessment, terrain management and group dynamics are taught in conjunction with leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Our curriculum sources are the best available and are continually revised to reflect the best practices in the industry. Peninsula’s instructors are hand-picked for their hard- and soft-skills set. We recruit and train skilled outdoor educators that are well-traveled, well-read, experienced and passionate about what they do. Our teaching staff are an integral part of delivering courses that are safe, fun, and successful. Training and practical skills sessions are intended to help students of all a skill levels to advance their abilities and to gain the confidence that comes with being able to do something well.
