Phyla Earth works to restore ecosystems that have been degraded by mining, intensive agriculture and other degenerative activities. We are pioneering the development of regenerative biodiverse agroforestry (AF) systems across the Global South and have developed a valuable portfolio of climate change-resilient plant species able to withstand harsh conditions where few other plants are able to grow, thus laying the foundation to revive ecosystems and rebuild healthy soils. Our vision spans the entire value chain as we innovate to unlock the full potential of traditional agroforestry to scale for a rising demand for bioenergy, food proteins and water resources. PHYLA works under the premise that more diversity in an ecosystem equates to greater resiliency of that ecosystem. Our shift from annual cropping systems to perennial ones effectively increases productivity as well as biodiversity whilst decreasing weather and climate related risks. Through integrating our team’s highly reputed ecological and engineering expertise, proprietary technology and AI capabilities with trusted networks/partners and projects, Phyla provides quantifiable regenerative solutions at scale, addressing planetary challenges around biodiversity loss, natural resource depletion, carbon emissions and pollution whilst developing new green products for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. By rehabilitating toxic mining sites and displacing extractive practices with regenerative ones, Phyla is reconfiguring antiquated economic models, uncovering functional ecosystems as the source of wealth, providing opportunities for inclusive growth and ultimately building a business that addresses all 17 of the UN’s SDGs.
