About PIE Story TheatreTM
P.I.E. stands for Projects in Education and Story Theatre is the format in which PIE is presented – utilizing the unique approach to theater games and storytelling created by Viola Spolin and Paul Sills. PIE was created in the early '90s by Patrick Riviere as an arts-ed assembly program that would go into schools, community organizations, parks, libraries and other venues to introduce young children to theater and storytelling in a way that is educational, interactive and fun! Using narrative song, creative characters, simple props and a few stools, the cast of five actors brings the joy of theatre to young children while stressing team work, community, and reading as an element to education and learning. PIE is the educational arm of the non-profit art organization All Seasons Theatre Company, Inc. Currently PIE is part of the educational outreach of Casa 0101 Theater in Los Angeles and is also booked into schools and other venues through Arts Horizons in New York City.
