About Ponderosa Aviation
Ponderosa Aviation is one of the nation’s leading contractors providing Air Attack aircraft to both the Department of the Interior and the US Forest Service. In this role, our fleet of aircraft serves as a platform to monitor wildland fires and direct fire suppression activities from the air. In addition to our aerial firefighting activities we operate an air ambulance service throughout southeast Arizona, providing life-sustaining transportation to patients in need. Ponderosa Aviation is the Fixed-Base Operator at Safford Regional Airport with a full service maintenance department and avionics shop on site capable of handling all of your maintenance needs.
