The seventies. A time of change and innovation. The first Opel Manta rolls off the production line, and in Silicon Valley, Microsoft and Apple are founded. In Rottweil, Heinz Bucher establishes Metrax GmbH in 1973. People in the seventies live more consciously, valuing health and wellness. The self-developed wellness devices from Metrax are exactly in tune with the times - manufactured locally, Made in Germany. A tradition that comes with responsibility and one we uphold to this day. In the 1980s, emergency medicine in Germany makes great progress. The emergency physician system is established, and the ADAC puts "Christoph 31" - the first civilian rescue helicopter - into service. Under the brand name PRIMEDIC, Metrax develops the first portable defibrillators for medical practices and clinics - the Defi-N/B. This marks the beginning of a continuing success story for emergency medicine. The DefiMonitor DM series of the 1990s adds monitoring functions to defibrillators and for the first time combines diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in a compact device. Since then, we have continuously developed our professional line with the DefiMonitor XD and EVO. With the new millennium, awareness of life-saving immediate action grows, and automated defibrillators find their way into train stations, businesses, and public facilities. As the first manufacturer in Germany, we set an early example with HeartSave AEDs - devices specifically designed for laypersons - reliable, intuitive, and state-of-the-art. Since 2017, we have been part of the Yuwell Group, one of the leading and most dynamically growing medical technology manufacturers with over 6,000 employees and a market value of around 5.6 billion US dollars.
