Up to 24% of individuals who have a psychedelic experience may encounter difficult or adverse effects that can persist for up to a year. Furthermore, the absence of regulation and prohibition on the use of these substances has given rise to clandestine organizations and neo-shamanic sects, that exploit vulnerable individuals with claims of miraculous cures and where sexual abuse has been frequently reported. The proliferation of such organizations not only undermines the potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelic substances but also poses significant risks to individuals seeking healing. Reports of sexual abuse and arrests within these neo-shamanic sects have cast a shadow over the legitimate exploration of psychedelics for mental health. Therefore, as we navigate the complex landscape of psychedelic therapy, it is imperative to address these challenges with very careful regulation, rigorous research, and ethical practices to ensure the safety and integrity of those seeking healing and personal growth. Psyflow is more than just an educational platform. We are a peer support community for psychedelic integration. We provide a unique three-month training for our volunteers, offering them the opportunity to learn and grow alongside experts in the field of psycedelics and integration. Together, we learn to connect hearts and minds, empowering our volunteers to offer support to those in need during and after challenging experiences with psychedelics or cannabis.
