To have healthy schools and students we must have healthy teachers! Just like stacking stones, it's all about balance. Teachers have long been constructed as heroes and, therefore, heroic actions, capabilities, and sacrifices are expected. But this negates a monumental truth: Teachers are HUMAN. Radical Teacher Wellness was founded by Amy Warman after a long career in education as a teacher, mentor, administrator and coach. Over and over, she saw the best and brightest teachers struggling--not because they didn't love the art and science of teaching or their students, but rather because they broke down under the weight of unrealistic expectations. A compassion for students and a dedication to learning kept them moving but their bodies, spirits, hearts and minds suffered--often in secret. Radical Teacher Wellness provides ongoing teacher support and advocacy, wellness and mindfulness development materials and training, and teacher coaching.
